Whale chair는 자연에서 모티브를 가져와 일상의 공간에 생기를 더한다. 고래의 형상에서 착안한 등받이와 좌판은 그 특징인 유려한 곡선이 시각적으로 편안함을 주며 사용적 측면에서도 앉는 사람을 포근하게 감싸준다. 또한 소재적으로 나무와 금속의 조화가 따뜻한 느낌을 풍기면서도 차분하고 세련된 분위기를 만들어낸다.

The whale chair is designed to add vitality to daily spaces by bringing motifs from nature. The backrest and seat plate, inspired by the shape of a whale, are visually comfortable with their characteristic smooth curves and comfortably surround the seated person in terms of use. In addition, the combination of wood and metal creates a warm feeling while creating a calm and sophisticated atmosphere.

금속 소재로 이루어진 두번째 whale chair는 금속의 물성을 통해 고래라는 모티브가 가진 특징을 더욱 날렵하고 차가운 이미지로 표현하였다. 얇은 철판으로 인해 자연스럽게 노출되는 금속 하드웨어를 너트와 결합함으로써 숨기기보다는 더욱 노출시키고자 하였다. 이를 통해 의자가 가진 전반적인 금속의 물성을 더 돋보이게 된다. 또한 손으로 분해조립이 가능한 특성을 통해 디자인이 가진 직관성을 더욱 살리고자 하였다.

The second whale chair, made of metal, uses the material properties to express the whale motif with a sharper and colder image. By combining the naturally exposed metal hardware with nuts due to the thin metal sheets, the intention was to expose rather than conceal these elements. This enhances the overall material quality of the metal in the chair. Additionally, the ability to disassemble and reassemble the chair by hand emphasizes the intuitive nature of its design.
