동아시아 전설 속 옳고 그름을 가릴 수 있는 재주가 있으며 불의를 보면 뿔로 받는다고 알려져 있는 해치가 박스와도 같은 작은 케이지 안에 들어가 있다. 해치의 자세와 크기에 딱 알맞은 정도로만 타이트하게 만들어진 케이지를 사이에 두고 우리의 몸과 가깝게 맞닿으며 해치와의 거리감은 더욱 줄어든다. 정의로우면서 때로는 경외적인 느낌을 풍기는 해치가 케이지에 갇혀있는 모습이 낮설고 생경한 한편 케이지라는 존재가 이전에 느낄 수 없던 기묘한 긴장감을 형성한다.

Haechi, who is known in East Asian legends to have a knack for distinguishing between right and wrong and to attack injustice with his horns, is housed in a small box-like cage. With the cage made just tight enough for Haechi's posture and size, it comes into close contact with our body, further reducing the distance between us and Haechi. Although the appearance of a righteous Haechi being confined in a cage is unfamiliar, the presence of a cage creates a strange tension that has never been felt before.

Haechi on leash는 해치가 가진 캐릭터적 특성에 집중하여 마치 길가의 볼라드에 목줄로 묶여있는 동물과 같은 연출을 통해 희화화된 상황을 그렸다. 정의롭고 상서로운 전통적 상징물이 현대의 사물과 색 그리고 익숙한 장면과 만나 편집되어 친숙하지만 낯선 감상으로 사람들에게 다가간다.

'Haechi on leash' focused on Haechi's character traits and portrayed a caricatured situation by depicting him as if he were an animal tied by a leash to a bollard on the side of the road. Just and auspicious traditional symbols are edited together with modern objects, colors, and familiar scenes to reach people with unfamiliar emotions.
